You’re sitting in your Acura in Dallas rush hour traffic on a Friday afternoon when, all of the sudden, you feel a bump from the rear.  It seems that the person behind you wasn’t paying attention for some reason and couldn’t stop in time.  What do you do?

In the majority of the cities in the Dallas area, the police will only respond to an accident if there is an injury involved so it’s up to you to record all of the information that you’ll need to make a claim against the insurance company of the party that hit your Acura.  So we suggest that you take your cell phone out and record as much information as you can at the accident scene.  Take photos of both vehicles, making sure to include the license plates.  Take photos of the driver of the other vehicle, their proof of insurance and their driver’s license.  Those will come in handy when you call their insurance company to make the claim.  And lastly, if your car is drivable, be sure to move it out of the way of traffic as soon as possible to be in compliance with the law.
