All Acura models for 2009 include as standard equipment the Advanced Compatibility Engineering or ACE body structure.  This system is designed to absorb energy in frontal crashes and minimize “under ride” or “over ride” that can commonly happen in frontal impacts with larger or smaller vehicles.  The ACE system also channels kinetic energy from crashes to both the upper and lower structural elements, including frame rails, side sills and A pillars.    This sends energy around the vehicle and away from the passenger compartment.
