Getting Your Car Jump-Started

Your car needs a battery in order to properly operate. If your battery dies, you can find another vehicle to jump yours off so that you can get back on the road in Dallas. Make sure you attach each cable to the correct post on the battery. The red cable usually goes to the positive post while the black cable is for the negative side.

Keep both of the cars turned off until you get the cables connected to both batteries. When they are connected, start the car that doesn't have a dead battery. It takes about five minutes or so for the battery to charge yours.

After a few minutes, try to start your car. If it doesn't turn over, wait a few minutes longer. A vehicle that won't start usually means that your battery is completely dead or that there is an issue with another part of the charging system that can be examined at Goodson Acura of Dallas.
