If you've never purchased new tires before, you might not be aware of the different varieties that are available. For example, summer tires are much different than all-season tires. While one of these tire options might work for warmer climates, you're going to want a tire that will keep you safe year-round if you're living somewhere that ice and snow are an issue for a good chunk of the year.

All-season tires are designed to be a one-time purchase. You don't have to change them between seasons, making them affordable and convenient. A summer tire is much different. You will be able to use them in the rain, but don't keep them on when the temperatures are starting to drop. Expect to have a winter set that you'll need to store and maintain the rest of the year when they're not in use.
