There are several factors to consider when determining your car's right tire size, for instance, width, speed rating, load index, and diameter.
How to read tire size
Each letter and number on the tire represents width size, load index, aspect ratio. Let's take a look our tire size, for example; p225/70R16 91S
Width size
Tire width refers to the distance between one sidewall to another. In our example, p225 means that it is a passenger vehicle, and its width measurement is 225 millimeters.
Aspect ratio
After the width size, the next number represents the aspect ratio, which inherently explains the height of your tires' profile. In our case, the height of the tire is 70% of its width.
Construction
The letter R refers to the construction type, either Radial or Diagonal. Radial construction means that the ply cords are fixed in a radial direction.
